The Lighthouse: Why I Cannot Stop Doing This Work

The Lighthouse: Why I Cannot Stop Doing This Work

On purpose, recognition, and what it means to guide people home.

There is a song I cannot sing properly. I never get the words right, and it makes me cry every single time I hear it. Not because of the song itself, but because of the moment it came on in the car. That was the day everything made sense. The name. The purpose. The Lighthouse.

It was not a decision I made. It was something I recognised. Like it had always been true, and I had just finally caught up with it.

And every time I hear it now, I feel the exact same thing I feel when I am sitting with someone and something finally clicks into place for them. After all the confusion. After all the not knowing. That moment when they land. That feeling has never got smaller. It just keeps growing.

The people I feel most called to work with

They are purpose led business owners. Genuinely gifted, with something real to offer. But their confidence, their visibility, their income, it does not yet match that gift. Not because they lack talent. Because something underneath has not yet felt safe enough to let them fully shine.

That is the work I guide. And when someone like that finally lets themselves be seen, the ripple goes far beyond them. Into every person they reach, every life they touch, every client they go on to support because of the shift they made. That is why I cannot stop doing this.

What the Lighthouse actually means

I am not here to save anyone. A lighthouse does not chase the ships. It does not shout at them, or tell them they are going the wrong way, or rush them to the shore. It just shines. Steady and consistent, from the same place, night after night.

That is what this work is. I shine my light bright enough that people who have lost sight of their own get to borrow mine for a while, until they find their way home. Not because I have the answers for them, but because the clarity I bring allows them to hear their own answers more clearly. The state creates the story. And when someone finally feels safe enough in their body, safe enough in the space between us, safe enough to say the thing they have never said out loud, that is when everything shifts. That is the moment the shore comes into view.

The ripple effect

When a purpose led business owner finally believes in themselves, something shifts that is bigger than them. They show up differently for their clients. Their work lands differently. The people around them feel it. And those people go on to affect other people, and so it goes.

That is the ripple effect. And it is the reason this work has never felt like a job to me. It feels like a purpose. It feels like the only thing I was ever supposed to be doing.
